Maintenance tips

No matter how careful you keep your jewellery, they are still prone to oxidisation. Over time, it might start to become black and start losing its shine due to moisture in the air. Don't worry, this is completely normal in natural materials. You can use the following tips and tricks to prevent oxidisation.

1. USE A SILVER POLISHING CLOTH TO GENTLY WIPE THE SURFACE

For daily maintenance with not too serious oxidation, you can use a silver polishing cloth to wipe the surface. This can restore about 80% of the shine. It is normal for the cloth to turn black. When the effect starts to depreciate, you can just switch to a new cloth. Important to remember that DO NOT wash the cloth with water, it will reduce the effectiveness.

2. SILVER WIPING CREAM

Put some silver wiping cream on a dry cloth or cotton pad and wipe it gently, then rinse with water and dry it in the shade or take a paper towel to absorb the moisture. If there are grooves that cannot be cleaned, you can use a soft toothbrush to gently brush! Although the silver wiping cream is milder, it should not be used frequently!

3. SILVER WASHING WATER

This method can be used for sterling silver jewelry with severe oxidation! You can soak the silver jewellery in silver washing water for about 5 seconds and then take it out, then wash it with water and dry it in the shade or take a paper towel to absorb the moisture. If the surface of the silver jewellery is foggy, wipe it with a silver cloth to restore its luster. (Silver washing water has a strong cleaning effect. If it is not severely oxidized, it is not recommended to use it regularly!)

Use the above three methods to restore the luster of sterling silver jewelry, but remember that if the silver jewelry is inlaid with gems (pearls, diamonds, natural ores, etc.), do not soak or wipe the silver wiping product on the gem, because of the chemicals contained in the silver wiping product Will cause gem damage!
